Ware Swimming Club is deeply disappointed with the recent notification from East Herts Council and Chauncy School regarding the proposal to close Fanshawe Pool and Gym. We believe that this decision has been made without adequately exploring viable options to keep the facility operating in its present format, and we are concerned about the significant impact this closure will have on our community.
Fanshawe Pool and Gym is a critical resource for the people of Ware and the surrounding villages, providing essential services for physical health, recreation, and community cohesion. Ware Swimming Club remains steadfastly committed to this facility and will work tirelessly with all relevant parties to secure a positive outcome that benefits our members and the broader community.
In the weeks and months ahead, we will be actively campaigning to ensure that Fanshawe Pool and Gym remains open and continues to serve as an invaluable asset for our area. We urge the Council and Chauncy School to reconsider their approach and engage in meaningful dialogue with stakeholders to find a sustainable solution.
We appreciate the support of our members and the local community as we navigate this challenging situation. Together, we can advocate for the preservation of Fanshawe Pool and Gym and its continued contribution to the well-being of our community.
If you are able to assist the campaign, we want to hear from you. Please e-mail info@friends-of-fanshawe.org.uk Whether time, expertise, or both, your assistance is welcomed.
While Fanshawe Pool and Gym is the current home of Ware Swimming Club, the Committee is taking steps to prepare for all eventualities. We would like to assure you that what makes Ware SC so special is the members who are the heart and soul of the club irrespective of the pool we are swimming in.
