Timekeeper and Judge Level 1 courses now available online
The Timekeeper and Judge Level 1 training courses are now available online. The Timekeeper course covers what being a timekeeper is all about through an interactive e-learning which will take you between 60 and 90 minutes to complete, followed by a practical timekeeping session. This can be completed at an event. For more details, go to:
The Judge level 1 online course is the first step to achieving Judge 1 status for swimming technical officiating. It is accessible to anyone who wants to understand the FINA rules relating to swimming and the process of being a Judge Swimming Official and Timekeeper. Find out more at:
If you are interested in doing either of these online courses or would like more information about officiating, please email club.secretary@waresc.co.uk
Officials Workshop
As part of the Stevenage Development meet, there will be an informal workshop for new officials who are in training via the online course, or for anyone else interested in pursuing this most useful way to support your swimmer, club and the wider swimming community. This will be held immediately prior to the Development Meet, in the training room at Stevenage Swimming Centre, St Georges Way, Stevenage, Herts, SG1 1XY, from 16:00 to 16:45.
To support the online scheme, the session will provide an opportunity to seek support from fellow qualified Referees and officials, in a relaxed and informal environment. There is no intent to provide a definitive structure to this session, just to be available to answer questions and assist anybody looking for advice and help with their training. In addition, during the event itself, any new timekeepers having recently completed the online Timekeeping course module, will have the opportunity to have their TK competency signed off, and likewise, depending on the number of available officials, for mentoring to be available to other officials in training.
Kind regards,
Ware SC
